PAN card status: List of documents can be used as proof of address

PAN Card Status: Apply for PAN by filling up Application for Allotment of Permanent Account Number. PAN new application apply online through two websites – NSDL and UTIITSL.

Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a ten-digit unique alphanumeric number issue by the Income Tax Department. It is a very important financial document. 

If you are applying for new PAN card, then you have to submit following documents with the application form:

1. POI: Proof of identity
2. POA: Proof of address
3. Proof of date of birth (PODB) is applicable only for Individual & HUF status of applicant.

• Elector’s photo identity card / Voter ID card
• Passport
• Passport of the spouse
• Driving License
• Post office passbook having address of the applicant
• Latest property tax assessment order
• Domicile certificate issued by the Government
• Property Registration Document
• Electricity Bill
• Landline Telephone or Broadband connection bill
• Water Bill
• Consumer gas connection card or book or piped gas bill
• Bank account statement
• Depository account statement
• Credit card statement
