DigiLocker App: How to Use DigiLocker?

DigiLocker is an initiative of Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) under Digital India program. It aims at ‘Digital Empowerment’ of citizen by providing access to authentic documents in digital way.

It is a secure cloud based platform for storage, sharing, and verification of documents & certificates.

With this app user can store to store their government-issued documents, including Aadhaar, driving license, UAN card, and PAN card.

Citizens of India can enjoy faster benefits and services with regard to government schemes, employment, education, health, etc. For example, the traffic police can access your driving license stored in a DigiLocker wallet to verify your credentials.

This application can also be used for storing personal health records under your Ayushman Bharat ID (ABHA ID).

App is available for both Android and Apple smartphones.

How To Start DigiLocker?

First you need to download the App for your device from Apple Store or else from Play Store depends on your mobile. You can use another way to login for Digi Locker application via web app.

Steps to SigUp

1. Go to official website www.digilocker.gov.in
2. Click on SignUp option from right corner of your screen
3. You will see a Form, you have to enter the mentioned details
4. Enter Aadhaar number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID etc
5. After entering all the required data you will get an OTP on your mobile number linked with Aadhaar Card.
6. Entering the right OTP you van access your DigiLocker Wallet/App.
