Twitter: New API rule to ban all third-party clients

Twitter by Elon Musk: As we know that Elon Musk is now owner of Twitter.com. After that he makes many changes, update in the policies, terms & condition and many more.

Now the company is banning all third-party apps and clients as it updates its API rules. The terms of service were updated on Jan 19, 2023.

On January 12, 2023, the clients such as Tweetbot or Twitterific stopped working as they were unable to access the API. These are the 3rd party client apps. In third party apps, users can login via their account, access the service and several other features.

On Jan 17, 2023, Twitter’s Developer account tweeted, “Twitter is enforcing its long-standing API rules. That may result in some apps not working.”

According to company, new API rules, these services will no longer work, because they are technically in violation of the rules. The rules also ban alternative services, which according to The Verge, was added with the most recent update.

Due to this new API Rules, these 3rd party apps are no longer usable with access to the API shut off.
