Nokia announces on Sunday to change its brand logo for the first time in nearly 60 years. The new logo comprises five different shapes forming the word NOKIA.
The iconic blue of the old logo has been removed for a range of colors depending on the usage. The company plans to review the growth path of its various businesses and consider options, including disinvestment.
Nokia’s CEO Lundmark also said the company will focus on adding market share in the company’s business serving wireless service providers with network equipment.
Chief Executive Office Pekka Lundmark said, “In most people’s minds, we are still a successful mobile phone brand, but this is not what Nokia is about.”
“We want to launch a new brand that is focusing very much on the networks and industrial digitalization, which is a completely different thing from the legacy mobile phones.” by CEO.
Lundmark also said that the company will focus on adding market share in the company’s business serving wireless service providers with network equipment. It also wants to ramp up growth in its business selling private 5G networks to companies.
Nokia’s move into factory automation and data centers will put it in direct competition with big tech companies like Microsoft and Amazon.
