PM Awas Yojana 2023: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) which is a scheme launched by the Indian government in 2015 to provide affordable housing to the economically weaker sections (EWS), low-income groups (LIG), and middle-income groups (MIG) of society.

Under the PMAY scheme, the government provides financial assistance in the form of interest subsidies on home loans, credit-linked subsidies, and construction of houses. The scheme has four components, namely In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS), and Beneficiary-led Individual House Construction or Enhancement (BLC).

This scheme is for people living in the slum area and for the poor urban people. The purpose of PMAY is to provide interest subsidy on housing loans to citizens of India.

There are two subsections of the PMAY scheme, namely PMAY-Gramin and PMAY-Urban. The subsections divided based on the area on which they focus.

Required Documents

  1. Voter ID Card
  2. Aadhaar card
  3. Government issued card with photo
  4. FWS/LIGs/MIGs certificate
  5. Driving license (if you have)
  6. Verified letter from a government official with a photographs

Steps to Apply PMAY 2023

To apply for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), you can follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Visit the official website of PMAY at https://pmaymis.gov.in/
  2. On the homepage, click on the “Citizen Assessment” option under the “Menu” section.
  3. Select the appropriate category from the given options, i.e., “For Slum Dwellers” or “Benefits under other 3 Components.”
  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and click on the “Check” button to confirm its validity. If you do not have an Aadhaar number, you can select the “I don’t have Aadhaar” option to proceed.
  5. After verifying your Aadhaar number, you will be directed to the online application form.
  6. Fill in the required details such as personal information, income details, and housing details.
  7. Upload the necessary documents such as Aadhaar card, income proof, and bank account details.
