E-Passport : Indian citizens will be able to procure e-passports with enhanced security features in the near future. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said, Indian citizens will be able to obtain e-passports with enhanced security features in the near future.
The intent of this e-passport is to improve security and verification during travelling. As a result, the time require for passport verification while travelling will decrease. And also no need to carry Other documents like Aadhaar, Pan and also Voting card as proof.
E-Passport is a chip-enabled passport with a biometric identification card, increasing the transparency and security of travel documents. The e-passports will ensure multiple layered security.
