Aadhaar is the 12-digit number issue to the Indian citizens by Unique Identification Authority Of India (UIDAI). It contains the demographic & biometric data of the citizens of India.
It is used as identity proof for getting government schemes and benefits such as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and helps in opening a bank account, fixed deposit, phone connection, gas connection, etc.
The UIDAI provides the facility of checking where your Aadhar is in use. As per the official website of UIDAI, you can use the ‘Authentication History’ tool to check all history.
Steps to Check Authentication History Online
- Visit the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/
- Under the ‘My Aadhar’, click on ‘Aadhar Services’ option and then select the ‘Aadhar Authentication History’ option
- Once done, you will be redirected to a new page. Enter your 12-digit Aadhar number
- Enter the ‘CAPTCHA Code’ from the given box
- Click on the ‘Generate OTP’ button
- Choose the period of information and the number of previous transactions
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile
- All the usage history will appear on your screen
Things to keep in mind to Prevent your Aadhar from getting Misuse
- Once your Aadhaar is lock, you will not be able to use Aadhaar biometrics as a primary authenticator
- You can unlock your Aadhaar Biometrics through an OTP sent to your registered mobile number
- Aadhaar’s biometrics can only be unlocked through a One Time Password sent to your phone
- Make sure you do not share the OTP sent on your registered mobile number with Aadhaar Card for authentication
