ECI has announced to integrate Voter ID with Aadhaar in reference of The Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2021, adopted by the parliament in December last year. There is no mentioned date of deadline to link Aadhaar Card and Voter Card.
The main reason behind this, linking two government issued ID’s that to validate entries of voters in electoral list. And it is also used to check whether the voter’s name is in one constituency or in multiple. Linking process also authenticate the identity of Voters.
The ECI has not made compulsory to link Voter card and Aadhaar card to the Citizens of India. For applying new Voter Card or download E Voter Card, click here.

Voter ID & Aadhaar Card Link Process:
1: Download Voter Helpline App from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
2: Open the app and Tap on the first option Voter Registration.
3: Click and open the Electoral Authentication Form (Form 6B)
4: Click on Let’s Start and mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card, click on send OTP
5: Enter the OTP received on mobile & click on Verify.
6: Click on Yes I Have Voter ID and then click on Next.
7: Enter your Voter ID number (EPIC), select your state, and click on get the details.
8: Click on Proceed.
9: Enter Aadhaar number, registered mobile number and your place of authentication and click on Done.
10: Filled Form 6B preview page will open. Re-check your details.
11: Click on Confirm for the final submission of your Form 6B.
